2005 Events
December 11, 2005: Black’s M.E.N. 2nd Annual All Men’s Fashion Extravaganza located at the Celebrity Center International Garden Pavilion, 5930 Franklin Ave., Hollywood, CA 90028. Sharon designed and painted a cityscape/stage backdrop for this event.
Summer/Autumn 2005: With relocation taking its toll, Sharon didn’t do much in the way of exhibition. She did do a lot of traveling across this great land, including a hike in the mountains and desert with her pal Chad Bush. However, she did have time to work with film director Dennis Stevens to design a logo for his east coast film production company, Catzilla Productions. Summer 2005: Sharon worked on various projects and interviews for her series of 15 paintings titled “The Suggestion Series”. She hopes to feature this series of paintings in her first catalog publication pending next year. See the essay section for more details.
May 2005: Shiawassee Arts Council Member All Media Exhibit. 206 Curwood Castle Drive, Owosso, MI 48867 featuring Sharon’s paintings.
April 22 through April 30, 2005: Riverwalk Theatre’s production of “Vampire Lesbians of Sodom”, a camp classic by Charles Busch and directed by Kenneth Beachler. Sharon returns to stage design for this hilarious story of friendship and rivalry over three periods in history. Sharon designed and painted a “logo” for each of the three acts depicting ancient Sodom, Hollywood in the 20’s and contemporary Las Vegas.
April 9 through April 23, 2005: Mid Michigan Artist’s Guild spring exhibit-located at the Michigan Library and Historical Museum, Lansing, MI
April 7, 2005: MESSA Annual Event-Sharon designed the space in a “train” motif for this company’s event which focused on where the company has been and where they are going. Toot toot!
March 13 through April 13, 2005: Michigan Education Association 41st annual Art Exhibit. Sharon had two photos in this fine exhibition of Michigan talent.
March 1 through April 15, 2005: Dancing Crane Gallery, Lansing, MI. This group exhibition featured several digital photographs by Sharon.
February 7 through March 1, 2005: 34th Annual Hope Borbas Okemos Library art exhibition. See new paintings by Sharon, and maybe people reading as well! 4321 Okemos Road, Okemos, MI 48864.
2004 Events
November 6, 2004 through November 20, 2004: Mid Michigan Artists Guild Fall Membership show. See new paintings by Sharon! Located in the rotunda of the Lansing Historical Museum, Lansing, MI.
October 14, 2004: MEA Arts and Crafts Fair: Paintings and Photography for Sale!
Summer, 2004: Sharon was chosen to design a stage for the Riverwalk Theatre in Lansing, MI. The play was called “Far East” by AR Gurney, and was directed by Kenneth Beachler. The play ran from August 19th through the 29th, 2004. Sharon designed and painted a Japanese Kabuki-style stage for which she received Lansing’s City Pulse’s 2004 “Pulsar” Award for Best Stage Design. Photos of the stage can be seen at mindtheimage.com.

April 23, 2004: Sharon was interviewed by National Public Radio in Los Angeles, California. The interview was regarding an exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art entitled “Inventing Race: Spanish Casta Painting”. An essay about the interview can be seen at mindtheimage.com. This essay was submitted to a Lansing organization called The Indigenous Peoples of the Americas for a contest; Sharon’s essay won first place. August 19–29 2004: Riverwalk Theatre, "Far East,” a play by AR Gurney, Directed by Kenneth Beachler. Come and see Sharon’s Stage Design for the play “Far East.” This play is set in Japan and Sharon designed and painted decorative screens for the Kabuki stage. Paintings by Sharon also will be displayed for purchase in the Theatre lobby throughout the duration of the play.
June 20, 2004: Eighth Annual Lansing Festival of Art in the Park. Ferris Park in beautiful downtown Lansing, 11 am to 5 pm. Artwork by Sharon will be available for purchase at special prices... “Such a deal!”
